Description
In a politically tumultuous time, how do we participate in creating a shared future in the midst of growing polarization? The 2024 general election is on pace to present citizens with the same opposition that 2020 brought, but this time with even greater levels of intensity, disparity, and conflict. In the face of these forces, how might we find the courage to connect?
Political polarization and forces of resisting and alienation across political divides are ill-equipped to positively create the alternative future we are capable of co-creating. We invite those who find themselves “politically homeless” in these polarizing times to tap into the resources within and around us to cultivate courage for our shared future.
Our Offering
We believe there’s great value in gathering with a group of friends to metabolize what we’re noticing in ourselves and around us during this political season.
Our Core Faculty will hold space for this, as well as invite us to practice a skill to strengthen our capacity for compassionate resilience in these times. As some of our region’s most gifted and proven facilitators, they draw upon modern mindfulness teaching, earth-based traditions, contemplative Christianity, engaged Buddhism, embodiment, as well as trauma-informed work and creative expression.
Rather than being a space to debate political strategy and opinion, we will gather with the shared intention of strengthening our interior practices (three-centered awareness, embodiment, creativity, etc.) as well as our relational practices (brave space, non-violent communication, collective trauma healing, etc.) for the sake of supporting a more courageous, compassionate, and compelling body politic.
Come gather with us– for just one night or for all of them. We hope you’ll join us.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
