Description
Qigong (pronounced “chi gong”) originated in China over 3000 years ago. A coordinated system of embodiment practice, Qigong uses body-posture, movement, and breathing to benefit our health and spirituality.
This multi-week class will create space for gentle Qigong practice. No prior experience is necessary, and participants are welcome to adapt movements in a way that is accessible to them.
Through guided practice, you will learn embodied practices that you can take with you in your everyday life to release stagnant and stuck Qi so it can circulate more freely in the body. As your energy shifts, the physical body feels better, the mind becomes more clear and our emotions are more stable. We are better able to show up in life as our best selves.
A note from the instructor: “This practice, for me, is so precious as anyone can experience the honey-like, tingling Qiflow throughout the entire body, and, especially, in the hands. No matter what is happening in the external world, we can experience peace, tranquility, and ‘stillness in motion’ at the calm pace of Qilove.”
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be. More About the Facilitators
Jacki Millay
Many years ago, Jacki had a dream in which she was learning Tai Chi. With a great splash of synchronicity, the next day, she found an instructor and, happily, started taking classes. With that, an entirely new sense of the magic and mystery inherent in this life began.
After years of practice, Jacki realized she could ‘give back’ by teaching. Upon retiring from teaching in the Cincinnati Public School System she chose to explore more Qigong/Tai Chi teaching venues and opportunities. This included immersing herself in a 200 hour certification course with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi(IIQTC).
