Description
Join us for a contemplative workshop designed to deepen your connection with the divine and explore the Spiritual Exercises as envisioned by Ignatius of Loyola.
Ignatius of Loyola was a Catholic reformer and influential leader in 15th-16th century Spain. Once a former soldier and vain noble figure who became crippled in battle, Ignatius of Loyola had a powerful conversion experience which led him to take a vow of poverty. He would go on to care for the spiritual formation of lay people throughout his travels, and his spiritual practices grew within an explosive grassroots movement which gave birth to his Spiritual Exercises– a developmental process for spiritual formation. He and his companions would go on to found the Jesuit Order, which has become renowned for its influence in education, ecumenical dialogue, and social justice.
Through guided reflections, contemplative exercises, and meaningful dialogue, participants will delve into the core principles of Ignatian spirituality, gaining insights into personal growth, discernment, and divine encounter. Whether you're new to Ignatian practices or seeking to deepen your spiritual journey, this workshop offers a sacred space for exploration and inner reflection.
This workshop is an opportunity to experience the transformative power of Ignatian spirituality in a way that speaks to the heart of modern life, without the necessity of adhering to a particular religious tradition. This conversation will be drawn from teachers in the Christian wisdom tradition, while benefiting from experiences of those in the group from other backgrounds.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
