Description
Communal responsibility takes shape in many ways: parenting, leading friend groups, being an engaged citizen or community member. Holding communal responsibility in times of uncertainty can lead to burnout, disembodied over-functioning, and avoidant under-functioning under the pressure we face.
This is an offering to bring self reflection and collective action into harmony with a supportive group of leaders from various walks of life. This is for you if you’re seeking an easing in your work, and if you find that your plate is full or are dealing with overwhelm in navigating the unknown.
This class will walk through the following movements:
Reframing goal setting as the practice of forming life giving agreements that uphold our communal responsibility and increase our internal capacity for the work that shifts us
Turning toward Emergent Strategy (coined by adrienne maree brown) to align our actions to our values
Discovering and committing to centering practices that translate to courageous, creative and compassionate leadership
This Hive course will combine teaching modalities, including grounding and centering practices, nature as a teacher, self-reflection, and group discussions. It will be led by Rosie Santos (she/they), an expert facilitator and consultant with fourteen years of strategic planning, management, and community engagement experience in academia, government, and nonprofit.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
